The new Senate bill makes improvements to the Medicare program by creating a new annual wellness benefit, providing free preventive benefits, and—most notably for AARP members—reducing drug costs for seniors who fall into the dreaded Medicare doughnut hole, a costly gap in prescription drug coverage.

Crowded field for D-10 supervisor race, - 09/02/2010

With the deadline passed for candidates to hand in their nominations for the November election in San Francisco, the most saturated district with 21 candidates is District 10, which serves the Bayview, Visitacion Valley and Potrero Hill.

You can read the unofficial list of candidates here. At least four candidates handed in their applications at the last minute for the district.

District 6 is also a crowded race with 15 candidates vying for the South of Market area, which is being vacated by Supervisor Chris Daly.

Supervisor Michela Alioto-Pier is up against six other candidates in District 2, while Supervisor Carmen Chu remains unopposed for the Sunset district.

In District 8, Noe Valley and the Castro, five candidates will clash for the seat although only three candidates have raised significant sums of money.
